Ilyang Antimony, a company founded in 1987, began by manufacturingSb2O3 (antimony trioxide), which is an assistant flame retardant in plastic, rubber and textiles. The company established a new company to produce melamine molding compound (MMC), which is a material for tableware, in 1992 and changed its name to Ilyang Chemical Company. The company built a factory in Cheongju in 1995 to produce mediums or vehicles for various detergents that currently are manufactured by LG Household & Health Care. Since then, the company has steadily grown, and as a result, has become the nation’s leader in the industry.

Sb2O3, a main product of our company, is mainly used as an assistant flame retardant in the plastic industry (such as ABS, EP and HIPS). Sb2O3 is used for products which are closely connected with our life, including TVs, computer monitors, interior of automobiles, wire clothing, flooring materials and wallpaper. Our main clients include LG Chem, LG Hausys, LS Cable & System, Kolon and KCC. In addition, the company has expanded into overseas markets by exporting its products to many plastic companies in Europe (Germany, Italia and Poland, among others) since the second half of 2013.
The Cheongju factory produces plastic molding containers that are household containers for laundry detergents, kitchen detergents and bathroom detergents manufactured by LG Household & Health Care and those related to cars. The factory makes various containers, such as transparent and opaque containers, and containers of various colors, after changing materials.

The melamine molding resin produced at our factory in Yeosu has been used for tableware.
